Blackjack Strategy

Blackjack is one of few games in which the player is actively involved in determining his own fortune, or loss thereof, rather than merely wagering on the outcome of an event over which he has little, if any, control. This aspect is one of the factors that makes blackjack a winnable game ... for the player who knows how to win.

Basic Strategy

Basic strategy is a mathematically-proven formula that indicates the best decision—hit, stand, double, split, or surrender—a player can make in any situation. By following Basic Strategy, a player can trim the house's advantage to less than one percent.

Intermediate Strategy

Intermediate strategies instruct a player how to wager in a manner that will increase his winnings over the course of many hands, regardless of how each individual hand happens to come out. While dismissed by many as hokum, a few intermediate strategies are mathematically sound.

Advanced Strategy

Advanced strategies enable a player take advantage of profitable situations by placing large wagers on hands he is likely to win. These strategies are so effective that casinos have altered their practices in an attempt to defeat them.
