The largest blackjack tournament ever will take place at The Meadows Casino in Pennsylvania. The total prize pool is $200,000, but a total prize pool doesn’t mean much. Most people want to know how much first place pays. In this case, it pays a hefty $100,000. Second place wins $25,000 and third place takes home $15,000.
The main event will take place on June 9th and June 10th. There are two ways to get into the main event. One is to be invited. However, if you’re reading this, then you likely weren’t invited. The other way to get in is through a satellite tournament. That said, you need to qualify for a tournament first. In order to qualify for a satellite tournament, you need to play table games at The Meadows during a qualifying period. These qualifying periods take place between March 11 and May 12. There are actually three different qualifying periods between those dates, for three different satellite tournaments, but as long as you’re there during that time frame, then you will have a shot at being selected. If satellite dates are important to you based on personal or work schedules, then you might want to consider looking at their satellite schedule.
Each satellite tournament will have 90 players. First place will take home $10,000. The top 18 players from each satellite tournament will make the main event. Elimination rounds for the main event are on June 9th. The big bucks are paid on June 10th.
